The old man was bending over the crushing blocks to remove sugar-cane debris when his long hair got undone and was caught in the mill. Total scalp avulsion with microvascular reanastomosis: A case report and literature review.
Total scalp avulsion is a rare but potentially devastating injury that when treated (following a few basic principles) can have very good reconstructive results. The present article reviews the current literature and describes the steps involved in the successful replantation of a complete avulsed scalp of a 33-year-old woman. To the authors' knowledge, the present case regarding replantation o...

A 19‑year‑old female was transferred to our emergency d...
متن کاملReplantation of scalp avulsion following a go-kart accident: a case report.
With the development of microsurgery, successfully replanted cases of scalp avulsions have been reported. In spite of previous publications of replantations based on a single artery and vein, it is now accepted that multiple anastomoses increase the success rate. We present herein the case of a successfully replanted avulsion in a child who caught her hair in a go-kart motor belt, and we discus...

Successful total scalp replantation was performed in our case. Based on the angiosome concept and anatomical study, the avulsed scalp survived with unilateral anastomosis of the superficial temporal artery and superficial temporal vein, largely due to the presence of rich arterial and venous arcades in the scalp. The patient currently has no problems with activities of daily living, although to...
